Brisbane's Big Gay day is getting decidedly bigger... this year the event was fully ticketed, with punters happy to pay around $30 to gain access to what has become Brisbane's answer to a big old Mardi Gras street party.

Organisation was great - with streamlined queueing and plenty of officials on hand to make sure everything went smoothly. Although the street got pretty busy, the bar staff were coping well - and at many of the bars you could get almost immediate service... quite an achievement with so many thirsty mouths out there!

Stalls were dotted around the party, with major supporters QAHC offering the chance to find out more about the organisation - QAHC is the Queensland Association for Healthy Communities in case you didn't know. 5808 were there making sure that no-one forgets that there are at least 58 federal laws that still discriminate against same sex couples and their children!

The main stage was in full flow - with some fantastic acts and, obviously, more than a handful of gorgeous dancers to keep everyone glued to the action!

loved it!
