Brisbane's Big Gay Day 2008... Fluffy...
review
Fluffy, the official Big Gay Day Afterparty, was bloody marvellous. It's a weekly gay night held at what has recently been voted the best nightclub in the Southern Hemisphere - Family. The venue is stunning - with an attention to detail that is unbelievable... but I'll come back to that in a minute!
Tonight's Fluffy was a night of many DJs and PAs - with Mike Kelly popping over from Germany to join Fluffy residents Harry K and Neroli, amongst others! On the stage we saw Cosima Devito from Australian Idol, Sandra Love, Alexei Paige and some pumped up Gaydar Boys strutting their stuff on the podiums. All of which helped make this one fabulous after party!
So back to the venue... well - it's pretty bloody awesome. Room after room of gorgeousness! The Ice Bar has a bar made of ice (I kid you not!), the Pod dancefloor felt like its own little party in a space-shuttle launch bay - tonight complete with a saxophonist who complemented the music beautifully, booths that you can rent for private parties dotted around the bars, comfy seating, great lighting and even the smoking deck had its own stunning fire-breathing sculpture.
Fluffy's been going for around four years - giving Brisbane's LGBT clubbers the chance to gather in style and party like there's no Monday morning. Love it!
